She's Feeling Better!

The little princess was quite sick last week. After 2 doctor appointments (including a night visit to Urgent Care) and a 2nd antibiotic (first one didn't work) her fever is finally gone and she appears to be feeling much better! Hooray!!

Sarah's Birthday Pictures

Sarah's Birthday Weekend

What an amazing time we had!! Sarah's birthday was celebrated on Saturday at Jump Man Jump in Reno. All of our Bay Area friends came up to help celebrate! After 90 (long) minutes of sliding down the slide, running through the obstacle course and jumping in the bounce house, it was time for pizza and cake ! Here are a couple of videos of Sarah enjoying her first birthday cake!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday, Love Bug!!! I can't believe it has been an entire year since you were born...since we finally got to meet you in person!! It has been quite the year for us! You have brought your daddy and me so much joy and happiness! We can't remember what life was like before you came into it!! Here's to many more happy birthdays, baby girl! We love you!!

I posted this poem several months ago and it gets more true everyday...enjoy!

Before I was "Mommy,"
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was "Mommy,"
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was "Mommy,"
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was "Mommy,"
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was "Mommy",
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so Important and happy.

Before I was "Mommy,"
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes tomake sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a mother.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was "Mommy."

Leavin' on a Jet Plane...for Reno!

Sarah and I flew up to Reno on Thursday to visit Grandma, Pop Pop and Aunt SherBear for her birthday! We flew out of Ontario early Thursday morning and had a layover in Vegas (didn't have to change planes, thank goodness!) and we arrived in Reno at about 10:30am. Grandma was waiting for us with her feet on the security line, watching Miss Sarah WALK to her laughing while laughing the entire time!! Despite the absolutely freezing weather (well...freezing to us from SoCal where it was 88 degrees on Sunday) we are having a great time!

Yup - she's a carry-on!

Can't wait to see everyone up in Reno!
