No interest...

So we've been trying to get Sarah to roll over, either tummy to back or back to tummy and she is just not interested AT ALL!! She IS interested in sitting up though, and is concentrating a lot on doing that instead! She doesn't even like laying down anymore...she grunts like she's doing some major ab work to sit up on her own and just isn't happy unless she's sitting on someone's lap being held in a sitting position looking around the room! She also loves her Bumbo chair and exersaucer (she's way more interested in the Leap Frog sticker on the exersaucer than all the lights and music, but that's ok!)!

I guess if you can sit up you don't need to roll over? :-p We're not worried...she'll get it soon! Grandma Keenan's been practicing with her everyday!

Sarah Found Her Feet!

Sarah discovered her feet a few days ago. It was so funny, watching her stare at her moving legs and feet and finally reach out and grab them! Now she LOVES looking at them and playing with them! It's so funny!

Now she just needs to roll over! She looks like she's trying (from her back to her tummy)...she twists her head and part of her upper body way over, she just hasn't figure out what to do with the rest of her body. She HATES tummy time and even though she's got pretty good head and neck control, she's shown zero interest in rolling from her tummy to her back...she just falls asleep instead!

Grandma Keenan is coming for her "Sarah Fix" this weekend! She flies in on Sunday and will be around to help out while I get some stuff done and Chris and I can maybe have a Date Night (or two?)!! Poor Pop-Pop can't make it down for this visit, but we'll be up there to see him at the end of July for Sarah's baptism! Hooray!!

She's Getting So Big!

Now that Sarah is 3 months old (I know, 3 months old! I can't believe it!) she's really becoming so much more active and now she can really lift her head up! Hooray!! She smiles and laughs all the time...of course, all that stops as soon as I get the camera out, so you'll just have to take my word for it!

Sarah also joined a playgroup with other babies and had such a good time! Then I got to go see Sex and the City (finally!) with the moms from the group the next night!

Sarah's Doing Better!

I did have to take her to the doctor, though. She had a fever Tuesday night and because she's so little, the doctor recommended she go to the after-hours clinic. They did a urine catch and her white blood cell count was slightly elevated, so they put her on an antibiotic (banana flavored augmentin). She spiked another fever later that night, so she needed another dose of tylenol, but she's been fine ever since...except for some sniffles.

I, on the other hand, wasn't doing so well. I saw my doctor yesterday for my sore throat, body aches, sore neck and congestion...I also had a temp of 103! They gave me a cortisone shot to take down all of the swelling and put me on an antibiotic for the infection. The shot was a miracle!! I was feeling better yesterday afternoon! Still a little congested but the rest of the symptoms are gone!

Chris still isn't feeling that great...his cough is really bad. I'm hoping he calls the doctor today to get something for it...then the whole Gray family will be on the road to recovery!!

Sarah's First Cold

Yup, she finally caught what Chris and I have. She was up most of the night with nasal/head congestion and coughing. I set up a new humidifier in her room that uses Vicks pads to add Vicks to the moisture in the air...I think that's what finally loosened up everything for her. At one point, her sniffling and coughing were so bad, I had to use the "brain sucker" to clean out her nose - she hated it! The poor thing just cried and cried! I don't think I'd like one of those up my nose, either!

She seems to be doing better this morning...still sniffling but no more coughing and she's back to her smiling self...and is still eating a lot - which we think is a good sign. Oh, and no fever!

Now I'M off to bed...to sleep the day away (since I missed it all last night) while Chris watches Sarah (he slept great - lucky him!). Hopefully we'll ALL be feeling better soon!

Sarah's First Plane Ride!

We flew up to Oakland Saturday morning. We got to the airport early to check Sarah in and to hopefully avoid a long security line. It took about 20 minutes from getting out of the car in the parking lot to getting to the gate...not too bad! We gave her a bottle during take-off so her ears wouldn't plug up and hurt her. After her bottle, she crashed. Never made a sound the whole plane ride up!

Amelia's first birthday party was at the park Saturday afternoon. Sarah made lots of new friends there and she LOVED watching the "big kids" play! I think she really wanted to jump in and play too! She also loved watching her new friend Tabi on the swing at the park! She was just cracking up laughing while watching her!

Unfortunately it was a quick trip. The 3 of us flew back home Sunday afternoon. And, to top things off, my cold got worse and now Chris is sick! Those darn airplanes! We're working on keeping Sarah from getting sick, too. She seems fine most of the time. She's still eating a TON (up to 6 ounces of formula at each feeding - every 3 hours!) but she is also sleeping a lot more than usual. We've got the humidifers going, hopefully that will help her (and us!) out too!
